Hypomyces hyalinus : ウィキペディア英語版 | Hypomyces hyalinus
''Hypomyces hyalinus'' is a species of parasitic fungi that attacks fungi of the genus ''Amanita''. The earliest recording of this parasite was in 1822 in Salem, North Carolina,〔Schweinitz, Schriften der Naturforschenden Gesellschaft zu Leipzig. 1822. Sphaeria hyalina 1: 30.〕 but microscopic descriptions of ''H.hyalinus'' do not appear in the literature until 1886.〔Ellis JB, Everhart BM. 1886. Synopsis of the North American Hypocreaceae, with Descriptions of the Species. The Journal of Mycology 2:74-75〕 ==Host== ''H.hyalinus'' is a highly specific pathogen which only attacks species of the genus ''Amanita'',〔Roderson, CT, Samuels, GJ. 1994. Agaricicolous Species of Hypomyces. Mycologia:86:839-866.〕 which is famous for containing some of the most toxic mushrooms in the world.〔Wieland, T. 1968. Poisonous Principles of the Genus Amanita. Science 159: 946-952〕 This genus alone accounts for approximately 95% of all deaths resulting from mushroom consumption 〔 Despite containing many toxic fungi, ''Amanita ''also contains edible species, including the Blusher, and Caesar's Amanita.〔 ''H. hyalinus'' specifically attaches to the basidiocarp on the sporocarp (fruiting body) of the fungus.〔Põldmaa, K., Farr, D.F., & McCray, E.B. Hypomyces Online, Systematic Mycology and Microbiology Laboratory, ARS, USDA.〕
